Translation of medical and pharmaceutical texts

Why "Delphinus"?

Dolphins have been saving people for thousands of years. Throughout history, there are dozens of claims of dolphins rescuing people from sharks, helping drowning sailors, and guiding boats through choppy waters, just as I intend to help you sail through the entire translation process so you can reach your target audience without suffering any stress.

About me

I’m Francesca Matteoda. My parents were Italian, but I was born and raised in the heart of London, UK. I therefore grew up bilingual IT/EN. My father was a translator and ran a translation agency for many years, so languages and translation were a part of my life since day one.

In 1996 I graduated from the University of Westminster, UK, with a first class honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages (French and Italian) with distinction in spoken French; I then obtained when a Master’s degree in Technical and Specialised Translation, working with French, Italian, Portuguese and English in 1998.

My first job as an in-house translator was with an agency specialising in medical and pharmaceutical translations, where I quickly picked up the medical jargon needed to work in these fields and discovered a passion for all things medical. I also learnt Spanish and added it to my source languages.

I set up as a freelance translator in January 2000 and moved from London to Madrid, Spain, in 2001, where I continued to prosper in the translation market, working both as a freelance translator and as a project manager handling pharmaceutical texts in and out of multiple languages, thanks to the vast database of freelancers that I have built up over the years.
